Dear Friends,
We had hoped that when these Passover greetings were sent, the war with Iran would be over. Unfortunately, it is still ongoing, and it is not clear when it will come to a conclusion. Our thoughts and prayers remain with our brothers and sisters in Israel, whose daily lives continue to be upended as they live under constant threat.
Passover, the Festival of Spring, is a time of renewal – an opportunity to look to the future, take stock of priorities, and rid ourselves of any “chametz,” or spiritual clutter, making space for growth both as individuals and as communities. At the WJC we have taken this to heart and have sharpened our organizational focus on our core mission to advocate for the wellbeing of our affiliated communities globally and to combat antisemitism in all its manifestations.
On Passover we also look to the past and recount the story of the Exodus from Egypt and the birth of our nation. We reflect on the themes of freedom, redemption, memory and a shared sense of what unites us as Jews.
It is our sincere hope that you and your families are able to celebrate a joyous, peaceful Passover together and that it provides all of us with some respite to better face the many challenges surrounding us.
Wishing you a Chag Pesach Kasher VeSameach.
